The importance of iodine
Iodine is critical for thyroid health. The incidence of hypothyroidism in the population is quite high with 20% – 30% of a population suffering some level of hypothyroidism with a female preponderance (Thomas, Jithesh et al. 2017). Micronutrient deficiencies are a scourge on humanity with food sources created for yield and not nutrient density and where soil is rapidly degrading for various reasons.
